Why look like this?
Pain meds during labor have become a "given" for many American women. The entire focus of birth becomes "relieving the pain" not focusing on the goal which is to deliver a child. I believe in the power of childbirth and the power that a woman has to endure such a physically challenging time without interventions. Women's bodies were made to give birth. and although you may at times feel as if it were possible, people do not die from pain.

The most important factor in deciding whether or not pain medication during labor is right for you or not is education! You deserve to KNOW what you are getting into.

When you could look like this??

Asking the right questions and getting true answers from your primary care provider is called informed consent. You have a right to know the side effects, the risks to you and your baby, the reason why an intervention is being suggested, how it will be preformed and if their are any alternatives. This is YOUR BODY and you should feel comfortable with the choices you make, not be pressured.
